Kids Natural Makeup Ideas

It may be your child’s birthday party, her recital, a slumber party, or maybe you’re getting her ready for a school or family photography session and you’re curious about finding information for kids natural makeup ideas.

Professional makeup artist and educator, Lisa Sim, is answering all of your questions by showing you a beautiful, step-by-step tutorial on how to apply a little makeup to a child and highlight their naturally beautiful girl-like features while still looking like a beautiful young child.

Personally, I love that Lisa styles children professionally for magazines and other publications, and is consciences about the type of products that parents should be watching for and avoiding when selecting the right kind of products to apply to a child’s skin.

She mentioned avoiding products that contain

  • fillers
  • binders
  • parabens
  • preservatives
  • artificial colors
  • perfumes

and other known toxic and carcinogenic-causing ingredients that are often found in most cosmetics for adults.

I think this is an excellent point to be especially picky when applying makeup products to a child’s skin.

But why should our guard stop there?  Shouldn’t we be protecting what passes through to our bloodstreams too, as adults?  You can learn more about Lisa here and here.

Skin, Our Largest Organ

Because the skin is essentially the largest organ that we have, absolutely everything that is applied to your skin passes through all of the layers of the skin and goes directly into your blood.

With this in mind, I like to be extremely picky when buying products for myself or my children.

Among other things, Lisa mentions to look for makeup products that don’t contain fillers, binders, parbens, and other toxic ingredients for your body.

After a search online, I’ve come up with several options that you may want to look at for yourself and see if you agree with the list of ingredients before purchasing anything for your child or yourself.
