First Birthday Girl Hairstyles
Hooray! Congratulations! Your daughter has been thriving for almost 12 months, now it’s time to think about how to style her soft and sweet short hair for her first birthday girl photoshoot!
Here are 5 adorable yet easy ways to style your daughter’s hair from ILoveBeingaMommy. But not just for her 1st birthday, you can do this for any special occasion or for any day of the week.
1. The Side Twist
First, gather a small section of her hair and sweep it off to the side with your fingers.
Next, gently twist her hair away from her ear and toward her head.
Finally, put in either an elastic, or secure it with a hair clip of your choice.
Now she’s ready to celebrate her very first birthday girl closeups in adorable style!
2. The High Pony
For this classic, and precious hairstyle you start by gathering a section of her hair on top of her head with your fingers.
Have your elastic band ready, and just secure her cute little ponytail.
You could either leave it like this, or choose a fancier way to compete the baby hairstyle.
Choose your favorite ribbon, bow or clip and secure it to her head, and she’ll be ready for her 1st birthday party in no time!
3. The Bun
You may have thought it was impossible to put her hair in a bun at this stage, but it’s not!
To begin, just gather all of her hair and place it high on the top of her head.
Wrap all of her hair around each other until you have a tiny little ball, then secure it with an elastic band.
You can either leave it just like this to attend a party, a dance recital, or special occasion, or you can compete the look with your favorite hair clip.
A competed, tiny, high baby bun! Now, this should please her photographers!
4. The Double Ponytail
First, gather a section of her hair on the top left side of her head and secure it with an elastic band. You can fan out the ends of her hair for an extra cute look!
Next, repeat on the other side by gathering a section of her hair on the top right side of her head. Don’t forget to fan out the ends of her hair.
And, she’s done! You can leave it like this, or secure it with two matching hair bows, clips or a hair accessory of choice.
5. The Headband
Sometimes, you can achieve a finished look with just a simple headband. Choose a complimentary color to go with her dress, and you’re golden!
Bonus – The Hat
If her hair is still too short for any of these hairstyles and her birthday party is at the beach, park, or outdoors then a cute hat, bonnet or fedora may be just the accessory to compete her look.
If you’re struggling with your birthday girl not wanting to sit still long enough for these quick hairstyles, then try putting her in her highchair with a few of her favorite or newer toys in front of her on her tray. Alternatively, having something engaging turned on in the room may also do the trick.
